Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse

Sexual exploitation is the actual or attempted abuse of a position of vulnerability, power, or trust, for sexual purposes, including profiting monetarily, socially or politically from the sexual exploitation of another.

Sexual abuse is the actual or threatened physical intrusion of a sexual nature, whether by force or under unequal or coercive conditions and includes sexual relations with a child, in any context, defined as a human being below the age of 18 years.

The protection of staff and of individuals interacting with an organisation are paramount and it is the responsibility of an organisation to put in writing its policy and process to deal with such exploitation and abuse and the willingness to enforce such rules.
