To protect people from any harm that may be caused due to their coming into contact with an organisation and includes harm arising from the conduct of staff or personnel associated with the organisation as well as the design and implementation of the programme and/or activities of the organisation.

An organisation must ensure that its activities are safe and to take all reasonable steps to prevent harm and protect people, especially vulnerable adults and children, and to respond appropriately when harm does occur.
